Alright, folks, let’s dive into the magical world of SharePoint integration! Grab your wands, and get ready to make documents disappear (into well-organized folders)!
1 – Navigate to Advanced Settings by clicking Settings (a cogwheel icon on the upper right). If you can’t find it, make sure you are logged in as an administrator.
2 – Select System – Document Management from the Settings menu.
3 – Choose the option Configure Server-Based SharePoint Integration
4 – Choose whether your SharePoint is on-premises or online on the wizard that will appear. Both are accessible through the SharePoint connection It can even connect to many SharePoint sites, but they must all be online or on-premises in order to do so.
5 – Assuming you choose Online on the previous step, now you one need to enter the URL of the SharePoint site you want to use.
!! SharePoint URL!!
You can simply copy the URL from when you are on the SharePoint site main page and the wizard will validate it when you click Next.
6 – Clicking the Finish button is the last step to allow your Server-Based SharePoint Integration, if the validation is successful.
Returning to your Document Management panel, you can now choose which entities you wish to make available for use with SharePoint folders.Click on Document Management Settings.
In the pop-up window, you check the entities under which you anticipate storing documents and click Next.
After that, the folder structure may be decided. Following are your choices:
- Don’t check “Based on entity”: No automatic folder creation.
- Check “Based on entity” and select “Account”: Primary folder is “Account,” with subfolders using account names.
- Check “Based on entity” and select “Contact”: Primary folder is “Contact,” with subfolders using contact names.
Click Next after making your choice. We may have to wait a little while now. As the document libraries are produced, you will notice the Status change. Click Finish once you’ve completed that.
Ladies and gentlemen, the moment you’ve all been waiting for, the integration is now LIVE! Let’s celebrate with some virtual confetti and a little happy dance!
